Hannah Davis

How would you describe your teaching style?

Warm, welcoming, playful and reflective.

Was there a moment when you knew that teaching yoga was for you?

Honestly, there has not been an exact moment I can pin point... its more like a deep knowing that grows exponentially with age and experience.

What is your favorite class to teach at HAUM, and why?

I love teaching flow & restore. Creating a calm atmosphere for people to rest and be is something that truly calls to me.

What is your favorite class to take at HAUM?

Ah! Hard choices... I don't think I can choose. I love them all for different reasons. Some that really stand out to me are Crystal's rejuvenating flow & restore classes, Rosa's intentional and creative sequencing, Nat's inspirational Bhakti flows, JL's sound bath, and Jenny's classes with her seemingly infinite prop offerings... I really cherish all the teachers and classes here for different reasons.

Is there a moment from teaching at HAUM Studios that has stayed with you?

My first time teaching at Haum came just days after my teacher audition. I was working the front desk when Nat called to say his car had broken down and he wasn't going to make it. With the support of fellow students, I took the opportunity to teach class myself. It was SO spontaneous! I felt completely unprepared but it was exactly the push I needed. Like the Universe giving me a slap on the bum and saying, "Hey girl! Get out there and do it! You got this!" A few days later, I was offered the position as sub teacher.

What can students expect when they walk into one of your classes?

Expect an opportunity to cultivate both safety and strength in mind and body - through movement, breath, and stillness.

Hannah defines herself as a student and teacher of yoga, moving with integrity, humility, and deep reverence in all she shares. Her teaching is based on the idea that perfection in yoga is when love is leading action. Warm, welcoming, playful, and reflective, Hannah holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Philosophy, and that curiosity about the mind and the human experience finds its way into her classes. Her call to teaching wasn't a single moment she can pinpoint; it is more like a deep knowing that grows with age and experience. She especially loves teaching flow and restore, as creating a calm atmosphere for people to rest and simply be is something that truly calls to her. From Hannah's class you can expect an opportunity to cultivate safety and strength in both mind and body, through movement, breath, and stillness, all with the intention of navigating life with more clarity and compassion.
